Squadron Prints Lithograph No. 1208 - Hawk T1, XX278, 208(R) Squadron, RAF Valley, Royal Air Force Hawk T1 Display 2012.
208 Squadron, based at RAF Valley on Anglesey North Wales, provides the Royal Air Force Solo Hawk Display. In 2012 Hawk T1 XX278 is the primary display aircraft and is shown in display configuration with a scheme to celebrate the Queen\'s Diamond Jubilee and London Olympics 2012. It also represents the Team\'s affiliation to the RAF Benevolent Fund. The name of the display pilot, Flt Lt Phil Bird is painted below the canopy. The Hawk is displaying at over 60 locations in Europe and the UK between May and October and will be watched by an estimated five million spectators. The aircraft is supported by BAE Systems and Babcock Defence Services who service and maintain the entire Valley based Hawk fleet. No 4 Flying Training School is responsible for training the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy fast-jet pilots of the future before they move onto front line squadrons.
