Over the course of eight weeks during August – October 2020, RAF Lossiemouth detached Quick Reaction Alert (Interceptor) North duties to Leuchars Station in Fife and routine training to Kinloss Barracks in Moray, alongside the nascent Poseidon MRA1 detachment under Operation BOLTHOLE. This was to support Airfield Operating Surfaces upgrades at RAF Lossiemouth as part of the wider Lossiemouth Development Programme, modernising the Station for decades to come to support the Defence mission of securing the skies and seas. The Kinloss detachment was led by 1(Fighter) Squadron and the Leuchars detachment led by IX(Bomber) Squadron but personnel from the Whole Force and whole Station supported both detachments.
