Description
Squadron Prints Lithograph No. SP248Sig - XX219, Hawk T1A, The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team The Red Arrows.
Featuring dynamic manoeuvres, crowd-favourite shapes and precision formations, displays by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team aim to inspire those watching. Each performance by the Red Arrows is the culmination of months of planning and preparation by dedicated individuals united in a constant pursuit of excellence. Above all, the shows – which are enjoyed by millions each year – are a demonstration of teamwork. In addition to extensive online and ground engagement, these displays support a range of UK interests, in areas such as defence, trade, business and education. This is particularly the case when the Red Arrows tour overseas, as proven ambassadors for a Global Britain. All Red Arrows pilots have previously flown operationally, with frontline tours on the Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier – as part of the RAF’s mission in securing the nation’s skies. Known as the Blues because of the colour of their flying suits, the team’s Whole Force support staff numbers 110 people. These aviators, civil servants and contractors include engineers, logisticians, photographers, public relations experts and other professions. Based at Royal Air Force Scampton in Lincolnshire, the Red Arrows fly the BAE Systems Hawk T1. The 2022 campaign is the Red Arrows’ 58th display season, having performed more than 4,900 times in 57 countries since 1965.
