Description
Squadron Prints Lithograph No. SP252 - UK Military Flying Training System.
The UK Military Flying System (UKMFTS) is a unique partnering arrangement between the MOD and Ascent Flight Training (created as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin UK and Babcock International) who were contracted in 2008 to design and deliver a training system that creates the next generation of aircrew. It takes UK armed forces aircrew from initial training through elementary, basic and advanced flying phases preparing them for arrival at their designated operational aircraft units. UKMFTS uses the seven aircraft types shown above to provide fixed wing elementary, multi-engine and fast jet pilot training, rear crew training and rotary-wing training in addition to innovative ground based training.
